We are very impressed by the enthusiasm of the students and quality of the business plans received. The very fact that 300 students participated in this competition undertaking all the inherent risks proves that each and every one of you is an ENTREPRENEUR.
We have many more exciting events and competitions lined up so don’t be dissapointed. Congratulations to the Winners again!
Best of luck for the next round! 🙂

But the due date for registration is tomorrow. Shouldn’t the teams have been finalized by then?
January 22, 2009 at 6:08 PM
Please correct my name, its “Afzaal” not Afzal. And secondly please correct the organization name is “Rural Midwife Organization”.
January 23, 2009 at 4:18 AM
@ Sid: The patron is in correspondence with LUMS, they are adjusting the registration date for IBA. So leave it up to the Patron!
@ Ali Afzaal: Sorry about typo. It’s fixed now 😀

…Thanks 🙂
January 23, 2009 at 4:48 PM
hey! i heard there wud be less than 10 teams selected… possibly only THREE?! thats unfair man…. also IBA is probably not paying for the trip… thats kinda sad…. wat update do u guys have on it?
January 24, 2009 at 11:06 AM
WELL THAT WAS HELL OF A COMPETITION…AND IBA HAS NO MONEY TO SPONSOR TEAMS….THIS IS PREPOSTEROUS…HAHA JOKE OF THE YEAR…
WELL….LEADERSHIP AND IDEAS FOR TOMORROW PHRASE SHOULD GO TO HELL…THATS WAT IS GOIN ON…STOLEN IDEAS ARE NOWADAYS CREATIVE AND INNOVATIVE…WELL!!! STICK WITH IT…GUD LUCK TO U ALL….IBA WILL SOON BE A WORLD CLASS BUSINESS SKHOOOOOOOOL……
January 24, 2009 at 11:27 AM
have faith gabbar. we got things approved pehlay bhi. we can still manage them. trying our best na.
January 24, 2009 at 1:44 PM
I’m really impressed with what has been done so far by the entrepreneur society!
Who would have thought tht IBA wud get organized enough to start (and take part in) something other than academics!
Last year’s competition was really good..this year you guys have done an even better job!
Kudos to Insia, Maryam and all others who’ve made it possible,
Soobi, you’ve got great prodigies…Congrats to all the winners, hope u guys show those lums ppl tht they might have the money (funds) but IBAians still have the brains:)
@Gabbar…Read: Leadership And Ideas for tomorrow…plz dare to be different and get away from the mentality of ‘kuch nahi hosakta’. If you want to be a leader then strive and help out others..lead them. Ideas, well history has shown us tht ideas are always born on the basis of something. Nothing comes out of the blue…value addition is a better term.
Secondly if you have an issue with the way things are going its good to bring it out in the open but do something abt it as well, not just complain. Help the society get sponsors.
Thirdly I’m assuming you’re a student (first, second, third yr). It’s upto you guys to bring about a fresh breed of IBAians who dont just get jobs based on the college they’re from but based on their talents. Hence the purpose of this society is to bring out the leaders in all of you.
Fourthly, given this society is in its second year with hardly any of the original society members around (Sooban’s guidance can only be guidance, given he’s abroad..but still he’s supporting), I’d say its great experience for all of you guys and I’m sure by the time it in its 3rd or 4th year things will be smooth sailing and those of us who have graduated, are working will be in a position to fund you guys too. Depends on the effort and talent that we see AND how willing you are to work hard. As a note, keep the rules and stuff as part of the society disclaimer/rule book, whatever. It will help guiding the newer members too.
Great work everybody and keep such things happening in IBA. Times are changing and its time we did too:)
January 24, 2009 at 1:45 PM
What’s the schedule?
Let do something abt gettin funds if its still an issue
January 24, 2009 at 7:21 PM
guyss, i understand that there are rumours of all sorts out there and it gets frustrating but pleaseee keep patience. we are sorting things out.
@ ME, thank you so much for all the appreciation and encouragement. trust me we really need it.
lyk ME says, the society is really young. Last year when it was formed there hardly was much time to give it a proper structure. sooban and nida did a splendid job in the little time they had and we have picked the society from them and are trying to properly structure it.
Everyone knows how hard it is to get things done in IBA. The new director is supportive but the old system still prevails and it will take some time before the culture becomes totally supportive. Yes we have facing a lot of problems gettin things approved but then you should understand that this is the first time IBA and any IBA society is doing sth lyk dis. so please support us and bear patience. we are trying hard to settle it all out.
We have funds for some teams and we are still tryin to see whats next. if anyone has sponsors let us know. that would be gr8.
till then everyone who qualified work on ur plans. ME is right. we have to prove ourselves to LUMS.
Thanks Again ME. i totally agree with everything u hv said. we all need to change r mind set too 🙂
and yes we have a proper structure and constitution of society now 🙂
January 25, 2009 at 9:08 PM
hey pls dont scare us now by telling us u dont have enough funds. we have worked our heads off at this 🙂 pls atleast ensure that the 10 teams that you guys promised will be sent otherwise all of this will be such a waste 😦
January 26, 2009 at 6:29 AM
Nida as in Nidi?
yar I think they will be sending some teams but knowning IBA iss mein kuch prob hosakta hai…always good to be prepared ourselves na. Yes if there are sponsors then plz do help this society.

Dear All
I have been watching all this silently. Trust me, it is such a pleasure to see the society blossom like this. Last year when we organized “Kis ko milega Cash,” our main objective was to form a society which is a ‘must’ for any Business School. Things were extremely messy then. The society had very little time and we were operating in the old (tough) IBA structure. I can totally relate to the current coordinators as we went through exactly the same thing; actually, we faced less of a problem because we already had a sponsor.. still things were so upsetting at times..anyways all I need to say here is “Keep it Up ” guys…the magnitude of issues is far greater this time…the event count, the team count, the financial requirement, effort required …everything has multiplied 🙂 I am glad we are doing so much now..Congratulations to all the participting teams..if u need any help please feel free to contact 🙂

@ ENTREPRENEURSHIP SOCIETY
FIRST OF ALL, WE HAVE TRIED MORE THAN ANYONE TO BRING CHANGES AND TO BE DIFFERENT…BUT YOUR OWN SHORTLISTS SUGGESTS THATS NOT YOUR PREFERENCE.. MANY PLANS ARE NOT ORIGINAL…EITHER COPIED FROM EXISTING BUSINESSES OR FROM OTHER PLANS ABROAD…NOBODY DARES ANYTHING ANY MORE, AT LEAST IF THEY WANT TO BE ‘SHORTLISTED’….SPONSORS KO RONA BAND KARO, TUM NE KOI SUR KA KAAM KIYA HOTA TAU WE WOULD HAVE HELPED WITH ALL OUR HEARTS…UNFORTUNATELY AND VERY SADLY THIS IS JUST ANOTHER NARROWMINDED PLATFORM…KUCH NAHI TAU LUMS SE HE KUCH SEEKH LO…LEADERSHIP AND IDEAS FOR TOMORROW IS JUST A CLICHE
May 4, 2010 at 2:43 AM
Rural Midwife association?? Seems to be some PPP leaders desire to get more funding for his constituency in the name of doing something and then siphoning off the money!!
Can people think of something more down to earth and not some crap!!
May 6, 2010 at 10:13 AM
give out some great ideas then…
plz , less complaints and more constructive thinking will be appreciated
