about BBA participation

guys, we are receiving calls and msgs from A LOT of ppl regarding whether BBAs are allowed to participate or not. i know you guys need to know this but i have no update on it. the invite i received was very ambiguous and unfortunately the counselors do not have information regarding this either. We are trying our level best to find out and ensure BBAs are allowed to be in. I understand that a lot of you will be very disappointed if only the MBAs are allowed to. So will we be. But we asked you all to register anyways because we would have missed the deadline otherwise.

I hope none of us is disappointed and apologize if we are.

We will update you as soon as any information is passed onto us! Apologies again.

GOOD GOING!

IIMPACT 2009 Singapore update 1

The invite says MBA only. We are trying to get in touch with the IIM representative to find out if the BBAs can also participate. The Patron of the society said he will look into the matter since the representative didnt reply till the publishing of this post.

So the game plan is that we will continue our Plan of taking over the business world as it is by putting up as many entries as possible.

GAME ON

GUIDELINES FOR IIMPACT 2009

  1. This is a team based competition (2 to 4 members per team).
  2. Participating teams have to enter a business venture plan related to the theme of “Innovative Business Ideas for Sustainable Development – the Road Ahead”, and based on pilot project funding of up to USD 5 million.
  3.  Entry into the contest requires submission of a synopsis of the business plan. Submission of the detailed business plan is required only upon being shortlisted.
  4. The entries will be judged on the following criteria:
  5. Originality – not necessarily an original business idea, but an innovative approach
  6. Relevance to the theme – how does the business idea contribute to, support or leverage on the goal of sustainable development
  7. Practicability – technical viability and ‘path to market’
  8. Financials – viability, funding and projected profitability
  9. Fundamentals – research and analytical underpinning for the plan
  10. The top three teams will be invited to attend the IIMPact gala event in Singapore in April 2009, where they will present their plans before a panel of judges and an audience comprising corporate, community and government leaders.
  11. The teams adjudged first and second will win cash prizes totalling SGD 15,000. IIMPact will also guide and facilitate the initial communication with any interested investors, for the winning teams.
